I am urging you to take immediate action in Congress to bring down energy costs by streamlining how government approves energy projects. It’s time to make energy more affordable!

America’s energy needs have never been greater. From cutting-edge data centers to fueling homes and industries, demand for energy is surging. But higher demand means higher prices – something American families cannot afford!  

Outdated government rules are causing endless delays in approving new projects. This weakens our economy, costs American families more, and reduces our ability to swiftly and strongly react to threats abroad.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Congress can clear the way for energy that’s more affordable and generated right here in America. It can start by passing legislation that would reform the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process for infrastructure projects. These changes would provide regulatory clarity and also establish a new standard of judicial review that would stop the endless lawsuits that project opponents use to delay projects for years.

Permitting reform is urgent to help make energy more affordable. Please let me know I can count on you to support reforms that can lower energy costs for all Americans!

America’s energy needs have never been greater. But higher demand means higher prices. We need to find ways to enable energy companies to meet the growing demands of our nation.

Frustrating that effort are outdated government rules that cause endless delays in approving new projects. There are more than 650 energy infrastructure projects stuck in permitting—pipelines, grid modernization, transmission lines, and broadband.  In fact, it often takes longer for government to approve a project than it does to actually build it.
